January 2007 release, Jump In!, the Disney Double Dutch tale and highest rated film premier on the Disney Channel to date, is a top-selling soundtrack featuring songs from the film’s leads, Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer.

Jump In PosterThe original score for the film was composed by Frank Fitzpatrick and he also wrote and produced two songs for the soundtrack, including the single “Jump to the Rhythm”, a co-production with Nashville’s Keith Thomas featuring Jordan Pruitt. “Jump to the Rhythm” is featured throughout the film as one of the main themes, plays as a music video for Jordan and was the opening number for the High School Musical tour.

The top selling Disney soundtrack was recorded at the West Los Angeles recording studio of Frank Fitzpatrick in late 2006. For more information about the film, the music, or to listen to samples, visit frankfitzpatrick.com.

2007 Ozzfest Tour News

Hey there Ozzy Osbourne and Ozzfest fans! I was planning to post a list of tour dates (that someone sent me) for the 2007 free Ozzfest tour, but the first date was listed as July 1 and according to reports from Live Nation, the tour is beginning on July 7, in Los Angeles, California. Rather than create some false excitement, I’ll wait till I get some more information before posting the actual dates. Ozzfest 2007 will be the 12th annual hard rock extravaganza put on by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. There are an expected 25 dates which include performances in the following cities: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Albuquerque, Phoenix, Dallas, San Antonio, Kansas City, St Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Hartford, Charlotte, Atlanta, West Palm Beach, and Nashville.

Tickets for this year’s Ozzfest will be free, and unless I hear differently, they’ll be available through Live Nation. Corporate sponsors for the 2007 tour include Monster Energy Drink and Jagermeister.

I suspected I had some photos from a Blizzard of Oz concert (with Randy Rhoads) that I took at the Palladium, in New York City, in May of 1981, when I was 15 years old (I’m an older guy now). I was excited about posting tour dates so I thought I’d go look for the photos. Not only did I find them, I even located the two original ticket stubs from the Blizzard of Oz concert in New York City where I took the photos.

There were two shows that day. As you’ll see on one ticket stub, there was an 8 p.m. show, and for that one I sat up pretty high in the balcony. For the 11:30 p.m. show I had ROW A (front row baby!) tickets and I was squished right up against the front of the stage, being a 15 year old kid in a crowd of New York head bangers. I had some old cheesy Kodak camera but I still have the photos and the negatives to this day. I scanned two of the photos that had Randy Rhoads in them so you can view them here.

I think Ozzy wore white all night long. In the above photo Randy is playing a Gibson Les Paul guitar (note the stacks of Marshall amps behind him).

The Blizzard of Oz was a great show that could never be duplicated. I’m sure Ozzfest 2007 will be a spectacular event. I promise to get dates posted once I get more information. Rock on!

Eminem tops list and in the news

Seems like rap artist Eminem is always in the news. I mean that in a good way, I have to figure in the music business, being in the news constantly keeps people remembering your name and probably still buying your stuff.

Eminem continues his popularity at the top of the list. In fact, according to a report from WordTracker (a keyword tracking company), he is the most popular searched rap artist, showing up close to the top of the “Long Term Top 1000 report.”

Below are the latest Eminem related headlines from various news sources.

Many fans had hoped for a reunion tour of the rock ‘n roll legends this year, with original front man diamond David Lee Roth at the helm of the mammoth rock ‘n roll act. Eddie Van Halen apparently announced this week that he was entering a rehabilitation clinic in hopes of getting successful treatment for problems he’s had with alcohol addiction. Eddie Van Halen is currently 52 years old and his band is scheduled to be inducted into the rock ‘n roll Hall of Fame in a ceremony in New York, later this month. According to news reports, original and former bass guitarist Michael Anthony, is the only Van Halen member expected to attend the event.
